SURVIVED! Detroit Lions ESCAPE With OT Win Over Saints + MAJOR CONCERN With Lions Secondary
The Detroit Lions escape Ford Field with a narrow 1-0 start, but their secondary issues are impossible to ignore. After blowing a 21-point lead against the New Orleans Saints, the Lions’ depth and playmaking in the secondary came under fire. Tyler Shuck carved up Detroit’s defense, and Chris Olave set a career high in receiving yards. Can the Lions fix these glaring weaknesses before Thursday Night Football against the Buffalo Bills?
Despite the defensive concerns, Lions fans witnessed explosive performances from Jahmyr Gibbs—who tallied 156 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and five receptions—and Amon-Ra St. Brown, whose 10 catches included a game-winning overtime score. Jared Goff’s poise, particularly behind a dominant offensive line, kept the offense humming with no interceptions. As Detroit prepares for a quick turnaround, will their strengths on offense overshadow lingering concerns in the secondary, or is trouble brewing?
