POSTGAME REACTION: Detroit Lions BEAT New York Jets, Jahmyr Gibbs Rushes For 3 TD, Defense Steps Up!
Jahmyr Gibbs electrifies Ford Field with three touchdowns, cementing himself as one of the most dynamic running backs in the NFL and leading the Detroit Lions to a crucial 31-24 victory over the New York Jets. The Lions offense continues its historic tear with three straight 30-plus point games to open the season—something never seen in franchise history—and Jared Goff delivers another efficient, turnover-free performance, joining legends like Mahomes, Brees, Brady, and Manning in NFL record books.
While the defense surrenders big plays and a 14-point lead, DJ Wonnum’s pass rush and Chuck Clark’s timely forced fumble help seal the win. Can the revamped Lions defense tighten up and match the high-octane offense as Detroit eyes a deeper playoff push? Fans are left buzzing about the Lions’ potential and whether Gibbs’ game-changing impact could reshape Detroit’s season.
